Car troubles, Facebook and transparency.

So, my Subaru needed a new engine and that set me back almost $3,000, now it's making some bad noises. I think it's time to trade her in.

I'm finding all kinds of old friends on Facebook and this makes me very happy. I guess that's the point.

I'm encouraged by the new administration's willingness to post all of these official documents in the online briefing room. I also appreciate them providing this shiny, new Whitehouse blog. These are a good signs.

Anyway, I'm going to try to blog more, even if I'm the only person who reads them. Writing every day is supposed to be good for you.

I found some old friends!

So I was setting up a new Facebook profile and right there to welcome me was one of my best friends from high school, Mark Edmondson! The Mark Edmondson! Also Diane Bertotti (Née Moore)!

This is very exciting as people out here are scattered pretty thin, so I don't socialize much (read: ever).

I'm bubbling with joy! I hope I can keep it up.

God, I might get annoying if I do. I'll just play it cool. Sure, sure... that's the ticket.

I'm starting to hear things. Today I was watching "Anatomy of a Murder" and I heard toast pop out of a toaster. See, I don't have a toaster. I could swear I heard it and at the same time I know I didn't.

What do you do with that?

Testing links.

I'm rewatching the documentary "Flock of Dodos".

This concludes the test of linking.

Also I forgot to test the picture thing.

Here is a test picture, mkay?

I love listening to people talk.

Mostly I love hearing about evolution and all sciencey type things. The real drag is I understand so little of it. Right now I'm typing this blog entry while listening to a BBC documentary about Kitzmiller v. Dover (you know the case in Pennsylvania regarding Intelligent design in school).
